Even though I try not to chase the news (it wears you out, I promise you), there's a lot going on in the Joomla commounity. I will comment on certain things happening with Joomla, other stuff I will just link to in my Twitter account. Enjoy!

If you have followed this blog for a while, you know that I have promoted Joomla 2.5 and upgrading to it. The latest version of Joomla was released in January 2012. Soon after its release, it was announced that all major updates of previous versions would end in April of this year.

With millions of Joomla users need to upgrade their Joomla 1.5 installations. That's why some of the world’s top Joomla companies now have taken it upon themselves to work together to provide the opportunity of a lifetime for one lucky Joomla user.

The Joomla Project has just announced the immediate availability of Joomla 2.5.4. This is a security release with two important security fixes and you should upgrade your site immediately.

In additon there, are 3 new features and 157 bug tracker issues fixed in this release.

The Joomla Project has just announced the immediate availability of Joomla 2.5.3. This is a security release and you should upgrade your site immediately.

All versions of +Joomla! 1.6, 1.7 and 2.5 are affected.

The update process is very simple, and complete instructions are available here. You can easily update your site from 2.5.x to this latest version using the update function in the Joomla administrator.

The Joomla Project is pleased to announce the immediate availability of Joomla 2.5.2. This is a security release. The Production Leadership Team's goal is to continue to provide regular, frequent updates to the Joomla community. 

The update process is very simple, and complete instructions are available here. Note that there are now easier and better ways of updating than FTPing the files.
