Alltogetherasawhole: Breathing new life to Joomla!'s Media Manager

Last Wednesday, during the "Ask the Joomla! team" IRC session, Joe LeBlanc and yours truly decided to undertake a project for reviving the Media Manager. In our opinion, it is the most underused piece of the Joomla! CMS. Truth being told, it hasn't received any major update since I came to know it, back in the Mambo days (ca. 2003).
