JoeJoomla: Why Are Companies Still Creating Static Websites When They Can Have A CMS Like Joomla?

Recently I had a meeting with a product manager at a company who told me that their IT department had just been given approval to revamp their website. They are going to use an obsolete website development tool to create essentially a collection of static web pages. It's hard to believe that people are still putting resources into static HTML websites these days. It's obvious they have no idea what a true content management system like Joomla! is.

Joomlatools: DOCman 1.5.5 released

This week we released DOCman 1.5.5. A couple of regressions were discovered after the releases of 1.5.3 and 1.5.4, which mostly affected IIS users (and local Windows installations). That's why we we decided to get the fixes out so soon. This should allow us to get back to our regular release schedule of +- 4 weeks. As usual, if you've bought DOCman 1.5, you will get the latest update by mail.

Gnomeontherun: Joomla 1.5 Multimedia Review

I'm a big fan of reading, and also for getting books for training purposes. Look at my Kindle, and you'll find more computer books than all others combined. So when I was asked if I wanted to review the latest Joomla offering from PacktPub, I jumped at the chance. I have a vested interest in multimedia and Joomla, so it worked out well. These are my honest opinions, and the only thing I am getting is a free book. Feel free to ask questions or if you've read it leave your thoughts.

JoomlaBamboo: April Grunge Magazine Joomla Template

It's been a couple of weeks since my last post and I thought I'd climb back into the blogging chair and give you all a sneak peak at the Joomla template that is coming in April. I have been playing with the second installment of the ever popular Grid template but it's not quite ready to go into production yet. So in the meantime we have started development of a grungy magazine style template that is tentatively called Folio Life. Check out the screenshot below.
